The House of Oud is the story of a friendship between the Italian master perfumer Andrea Casotti and the Jakarta based oud producer Mohamed Abu Nashi. Both men share the same passions: for travel, art and perfumes, together with a shared sense of beauty.

The ideas of Casotti and Nashi, gathered from around the world, came together to form their The House of Oud, which they created in 2016. This "house" is a rather special one: without walls or windows, yet open to visits and possibilities, furnished with knowledge, extensive experience and the ancient art of perfumery.

The House of Oud: an example of the symbiosis between art and science

While studying engineering, Andrea Casotti kept his passion for art alive. This is why he applies his understanding of the possible fusion between art and science in his fragrance laboratory.

Captivated by the scent of oud, he made this ingredient central to the house's perfumes, with each composition reflecting a different facet of it. Oud does not dominate but is instead used as a link between the other ingredients.

The fragrances combine tradition with skills in the distillation of essential oils when selecting the ingredients. The fragrance combinations are unique, created through a specific process of maceration and infusion. They have been developed in collaboration with perfumers Christian Calabro, Maurizio Cerizza, Douglas Morelli and others.

Each bottle is hand painted by a master craftsman in Italy and is different from all the others. They have an oval shape and look like true works of art, which is why many collectors buy two at once: one to use and one to display.
